About our foot and ankle specialists at our Killarney Vale podiatry clinic
What is a podiatrist?
A podiatrist is a university trained Allied Health practitioner specialising in the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of foot, nail and lower limb conditions.
What can a podiatrist do?
As podiatrists, we can look after any issue related to the feet or lower body. This may stem from the type of shoes you wear, injury, overuse or an underlying health concern such as diabetes or arthritis. Some of the issues we see on a regular basis include bunions, cracked heels, flat feet, tinea, shin pain, ingrown toenails and more. For all enquiries, speak to our front office staff today.

Bachelor of Podiatry
Shannon has lived on the Central Coast her entire life, finding an interest in podiatry when her father began to have debilitating foot trouble. She completed her Bachelor of Podiatry in 2013 and has since gained appreciation for all areas of foot care through her work with high-risk patients at the Royal Newcastle Health Centre. To broaden her knowledge, she also worked with Sports Podiatry Clinics.
Shannon continues to expand her knowledge and technique practice through constant further education and by attending courses and conferences on a regular basis. She takes great pride and joy in making people feel comfortable and pain free. When not working, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and playing soccer.
Merrin graduated from the university of Newcastle with a bachelor of podiatry in 2014. She chose a career in podiatry to enable her to directly help people and improve their quality of life by reducing pain and improving mobility. Following graduation, she has worked in private practice within Newcastle and the central coast. During this time she has gained valuable experience in a wide range of podiatry skills but has a particular interest in diabetes and general foot care. In her spare time Merrin enjoys camping and caring for her cats, dogs and chickens.
Julie has been with Killarney Vale Podiatry since day 1. Before joining Shannon, she spent many years working in real estate property management as well as owning and running a large cleaning business.
She has always valued customer service and believes every patient should be treated in a respectful, pleasant, friendly and courteous manner at all times.
When Julie isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and new granddaughter.
Teena has been with us since February 2016. She has worked in customer service roles for her entire working careers and enjoys supporting our patients and providing health and support to the surgery.
When away from work, Teena enjoys dabbling in floristry and horticulture, as well as spending time with her family.
